This was the first painting I finished after graduating from SFAI and it is about how easy it is to fall back into old habits when you don't know what else to do. After finishing school, this big dream i had for so long, I remember feeling like “oook, What do I do next?” And decided to fill some of the new freed up time(while I wasn’t at work) escaping into the world of video games, just like I used to as a kid. Pokémon has always been a personal favorite of mine. I've played this game forever but mostly repeated and cycled through the same games over and over again-gold/silver, Crystal, & Ruby/sapphire-which doesn't really matter because even the newer games in the series continue the same basic outline of gameplay (because if it ain't broke why fix it?).I realize i have had this habit of repeating/going back to something that comforted me in the past in lots of aspects of my life and I feel like a lot of other people might do this too.
Ironically, the game I was playing at the time was actually a remake of the ruby/sapphire series that I mentioned before. The title refers to the FACT that zubats are the most obnoxious and recurring Pokémon in the series especially in caves-which my room might as well have been in that time of my life .
